Thornfield 003 LTD

Thornfield 003 is the second AD plant to be built from scratch using Bioconstruct technology for the two tank based system. With planning to feed 25,000 tonnes of agricultural based feedstocks to provide a total output of 800kW from 2 x 400kW V12 MAN CHP units. Based on Agrogen, this is a larger version with many similarities in equipment.
Utilising a BioG Biofeeder, with a Vogelsang Premix and Wangen central pump station it has a common theme with the Bioconstruct design.
Alongside the 2 x 400kW CHP units, it has 2 x 199kW Viessmann biogas boilers to increase the heat output which are applicable on the RHI.
Built and commissioned in 2017 it is accredited on the ROC scheme for 1.8 ROCS per MW output.
Future plans are to replace the Vogelsang shredder with a Biocrusher to utilise straws and manures instead of maize and beet.
