Agrogen is a 249kw site based in Staffordshire. The site take agricultural manures, crops and residues. These are fed in through a BioG feeder, through a vogelsang shredder and into the fermenter. The “soup” stays in the fermenter for 85 days and is mixed which produces gas. The gas is taken off the digestate and put through an engine which produces electricity onto the national grid.
The by product digestate is separated and both the fibre and liquor are PAS110 accredited. Both are spread back onto farmers fields as a fertiliser.
